Hosting and technical information
Cloudflare Workers hosts the website and its static assets. Requests involve technical information such as IP address, requested URL, browser or device information and request time. Cloudflare processes data to deliver pages, maintain reliability and protect the service. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. This site has no visitor accounts, public comments, newsletter signup or contact-form database.
Search, tools and storage
Article search runs in your browser using the local article index. A query appears in the page URL and may be present in browser history and normal hosting requests. Budget worksheet calculations run in the browser and are not sent to an external calculator. Our own code does not set cookies or use local storage. Necessary technical or security mechanisms may be used by hosting infrastructure.
Email enquiries
If you email us, your address, message and chosen attachments are used to respond, assess corrections and rights concerns, provide support or handle privacy requests. Email service providers may process messages to deliver those services. Please send only what is needed for the enquiry.
Purposes and legal grounds
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on legitimate interests in operating and securing the publication and answering enquiries, balanced against your rights. Information may also be processed to comply with legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Consent will be obtained before an optional feature where required, and may be withdrawn.
Advertising and analytics
No advertising script, analytics service, advertising pixel or social tracking widget currently runs here. The ads.txt file identifies an authorised Google seller account. That text file does not itself load ads, set cookies or send visitor information to Google. Before advertising or optional analytics is introduced, this notice and the relevant controls must reflect the actual providers and processing.
Sharing and international processing
Hosting, security and email providers may process information to supply their services, including outside your country. Where applicable law requires international-transfer safeguards, relevant provider arrangements must meet those requirements. We do not sell information sent in enquiries. Disclosure may occur when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, address security incidents or respond to a lawful request.
Retention and security
Enquiry information is retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, resolve follow-up issues, maintain records of material corrections or meet legal obligations. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised. Providers apply their relevant technical-data retention arrangements. Reasonable safeguards are used, but internet transmission and email cannot be guaranteed secure.
Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or transfer personal information, object to processing and withdraw consent where used. Contact us to make a request; proportionate identity verification may be needed. You may complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your location.
Children, external links and changes
This general-interest publication does not knowingly request personal information from children. Contact us if a child has supplied such information in an enquiry. External links lead to services with their own policies. We update this notice when practices change and show the current date above.
